Slide the guide over the adjacent teeth and press down to insure that the guide has a proper fit with little to no movement.  

With Guided surgery - one of the benefits is knowing exactly where the implant will emerge from the tissue which allows you to only extract the tissue directly above the implant.  No more flapping tissue resulting in longer healing times and the extra suture removal appointment. 

During your consultation we will determine if your implant system uses keys for guided surgery (most do), the key will slide into the surgical guide sleeve and stabilize the drill during osteotomy.  Each drill is changed as well as the corresponding key until you have reached the correct diameter.  

The implant is placed and a PA  or a CBCT can be taken to confirm the placement of the implant. 

After placement the implant can be covered with a healing collar that is the appropriate height and diameter to ease the restoration process.  By having the correct healing abutment will pre-form the tissue to improve the eruption profile of the final restoration.
